“I sometimes have this strange feeling that I can’t describe”
“My thoughts often race and I feel overwhelmed, I don’t know how I feel”
“I often just feel ‘fine’, but what is that feeling anyway…?”
We often have the feeling that we are out of place, out of touch with our feelings, out of touch with our surroundings, feeling disconnected, feeling like we are in a monotonous spin of 'same-old-same-old'... But "what is that feeling anyway...?"
Our vocabulary, our language, often does not suffice to express how we really feel. Sometimes we feel numb, sometimes we feel overwhelmed, but we cannot pinpoint exactly what it really is that we emotionally experience or how we should describe it to someone.
Creative expression gives us a tool for expressing ourselves without words, through the use of our senses, through movement, sound, colour, through tactile experiences, through using our energy to mould or create, to take away or to transform.
Tuning into our selves and starting to listen to ourselves again, can transform the connection to ourselves and can assist in positive transformation. Slowly a feeling of personal enjoyment will come back, as we start to express what has been stuck inside us, creating space for new and authentic creative exploration, as we practice our senses and enjoy the qualities of expressive art making.
